A handheld plastic spacer designed to evenly space 9 frames inside a 10-frame honey box for deeper comb and easier uncapping.
The Plastic Frame Spacer – 9 Frame is a simple, effective tool that allows you to space nine frames evenly inside a standard 10-frame honey box. This spacing technique helps bees draw deeper, more uniform comb, which makes uncapping significantly easier during harvest. Many beekeepers also prefer this setup because nine frames in a honey super can produce more honey compared to keeping all ten frames in place.
This spacer can also be used in brood boxes when a beekeeper chooses to run nine frames there as well. It is important to use this tool only after the bees have already drawn out their comb, since spacing new frames too widely can result in uneven comb building.
Because it is handheld and not permanently installed, this spacer is convenient to keep in your toolkit and use across multiple hives. Beekeepers who run 8-frame equipment may also use a similar 7-frame spacer for the same purpose.
