This oxalic acid tablet and powder is a U.S.-based, EPA-approved solution for combating varroa mites. Designed for use with a vaporizer, EZ-OX gives you a fast, clean application with no sticky residue left behind. Whether you're a professional or hobbyist beekeeper, it's a straightforward way to keep your colonies healthy.
Oxalic acid must be applied with a vaporizer or as a dribble. For tablet application, use two 1-gram tablets per brood box in the vaporizer — no measuring required. For powder, measure 2 grams per brood chamber. Apply heat according to your vaporizer manufacturer's instructions until all the oxalic acid has sublimated. Always wear protective gear and apply treatments in a well-ventilated outdoor area.
EZ-OX is designed for beekeepers who want precision and consistency in varroa control. Each 1-gram tablet offers a quick, no-mess dose, and it's the only oxalic acid treatment in the U.S. approved by the EPA. It works best during periods of low brood, when mites are most vulnerable and exposed. A common treatment schedule is 4 applications spaced 4 days apart in August, followed by 2 more treatments in December or early January on a warm day.
